EUPHORIA

this was one of the best night of my life. coz finally, i was able to catch a gig of my favorite local band!!! up dharma down. they are really awesome. hands down. pure talent. their lead vocalist, armi, is pretty amazing too. every line she sings has soul in it. you can help but close your eyes and just enjoy the music. plus i was just five feet away from her. the venue is intimate and you can look straight to her eyes when she sings. armi is really pretty and i like her style. she is my inspiration. she is the best. rock and roll.

Its More Fun in the Philippines

Omg. I am so ecstatic with the recently launched campaign slogan of Department of Tourism, Its more fun in the Philippines! I absolutely support and love it. It awakened the creativity of a lot of Filipinos and everyone is making their own statement. It has gone viral in the web with all sorts of photos showing what is more fun in the Philippines. I have seen a lot of amazing photos online with a clever translation of the slogan, playing with the idea with a bit of wit and irony, which just made it more fun! 

This campaign really rocks! I'm sure this will attract more travelers to explore the Philippines. 

Anyway, I also tried creating one using the photos I took last year. I hope you like it! :)













The Climb

This is one of my favorite travel adventure last year. It was around September when we trek Mt. Romelo in Laguna to see Buruwisan Falls. It was my first time to trek and it was really not easy for me. At the start of our trek, I was literally cursing my decision to join since I almost passed out because of exhaustion. My heavy backpack was weighing me down that I cant climb the slippery trail anymore. My body was not ready for this type of physical activity. But everything is worth it when we finally reached the falls. All the exhaustion was gone! The view is so amazing!!! I really felt so proud of myself because I was able to do something this hard (although the they say that the trail is an easy one). Even though I thought of just going back home right after we started, I did not quit. I was able to prove to myself that I can do it. Its one heck of a fulfilling and memorable adventure. I hope I will be able to do it again. 

Here are some of the photos I was able to take on the way to the falls.

I think that's  Laguna de Bay on the other side of the mountain. Im not really sure. hehe
You will never get tired of the lush vegetation. 
This is the downward trail  that you need to pass to get to falls. It was slippery and I need to hold on to the roots to go down safely. Buwis buhay. lol
I got excited when I saw this view while going down to the site.
This is not really a great shot of Buruwisan Falls but I think its worth posting anyway. 
They say that you just need to follow the water to get to the next fall.
The water is super clear and cold. Brrrr.







Inspiration

Im  vain and a certified shutterbug that's why I love taking self portraits. Another reason is... I am a little self conscious when I'm the subject , so I'd rather take my own photos. :) But sometimes, I ask my sister to assist me like pressing the shutter  for me and then let myself make weird poses in front of the camera. Ha ha. Just like the photos I posted earlier. Although its a lot of fun to do, it is kind a hard and challenging because you will not see how you look in the camera. Its a matter of trial and error then perfection.  But by doing this, you can train yourself on how to instruct your subject when taking photos.

Anyway, Ive been browsing around flickr for some inspiration, and I found some really really awesome self portraits. Here are my top favorite photographers and some of their works.  And I am extremely curious on how they do these.

First on the list is my all time favorite Rosie Hardy. Here are my top 5 picks from her gallery.

Looks familiar? Its actually the cover of Maroon 5's newest album, Hands all over. The album producers like her photo and decided to use it for the cover.


Next is Alex Stoddard. He is 17 and his images are so surreal. Amazing. He is doing a 365, you should check it out! Im sure you will be overwhelmed with inspiration.
